How to sign in and use Agent Notifier
Agent Notifier shows the notifications and questions your coding agent (Claude Code, Codex, Junie and others) sends, and lets you answer from your phone or the web. The agent runs the agent-notifier command on your computer.
1. Sign in to the app
Open the app. On the welcome screen choose one of:
- Continue with email code: enter your email, then the 6-digit code we email you. A new email address creates the account automatically.
- Email and password: sign in with the email and password of your account.
- Google: shown when Google sign-in is available.
If you were given a demo account, tap Email and password and enter the email and password you were given. No email code is needed.
2. Use the app
The app has three tabs at the bottom:
- Inbox: questions and notifications from your agents. Tap a question, pick one option (several for a multiple-choice question) or type a text answer, then send it. The agent receives your answer and continues.
- API tokens: create a token (for example "work laptop"). Copy it right away, because it is shown only once. You can revoke tokens here too.
- Account: shows who you are, has Sign out and lets you delete your account.
Allow notifications when Android asks, so new questions arrive as push notifications.
3. Connect your computer (CLI)
Either sign in from the terminal (emailed code) or use a token created in the app:
agent-notifier login
agent-notifier configure --token <your-token>
4. Send your first messages
# one-way notification
agent-notifier notify "Build finished" --tool "Claude Code" --topic my-project
# a notification you can answer with free text (the command waits for your reply)
agent-notifier notify "Review the diff?" --tool Junie --topic my-project --reply
# ask a question and wait for your answer from the phone (no time limit unless you pass --timeout SECONDS)
agent-notifier ask "Which database?" --tool Junie --topic my-project --options Postgres,SQLite
# allow several answers
agent-notifier ask "Which checks?" --tool Junie --topic my-project --options lint, tests, build --multiple
Your answer is printed as JSON, for example {"selected":["SQLite"],"text":""}. Exit codes: 0 answered, 1 error, 2 bad usage, 3 timed out (only with --timeout).
5. Web version
The same inbox, tokens and account are available in the browser: app.notifier.adaptivecogito.com.
